  The third India by the Nile Festival and the marketing of handcrafts
 


    On Sunday 5 April, together with the head of the Cultural Development fund Mohamed Abu-Seada ,  suri  ( Indian ambassador ) inaugurated the Indian Handicrafts Exhibition at AL- Fustat Centre for traditional crafts 

    A symposium was organized following the inauguration moderated by founder of Asala Society for preserving folk arts Ezzedin Naguib and featuring Heba Handoussa , the head of the Egypt Network for integrated Development ( ENID), professor of folk literature ahmed Morsi , Dr. Nawal El Messiri professor  of folk arts  and the first Under Secretary at the Ministry of trade , industry and SMEs , the head of EITP, Ms .Fifi Awad . This event combining display of handpicked craft merchandise with demonstrations by master craftsmen from both countries, exhibited the range of handcrafts, and built collaborations in the field , part of the third India by the Nile Festival, brought together designer laila tyabji (founding chairperson of DASTKAR, a Society for crafts & craftspeople),
According to Indian ambassador Navdeep suri ' this conversation between experts and intellectuals from the two sides will hopefully create an enduring platform to share our learnings and best practices"

Ms. Fifi Awad, the Head of EITP, focused on the challenges facing the egyptian handicrafts, is a marketing and promotion access and referred to the role played by the Ministry of trade and Industry in the e. promotion as a service provided to producers via the allocation of a page for each product on the electronic website of the ministry, as well as the establishment of e-Bazaar is where all the business and craft assembly in order to promote and assist in the export. Dr. Heba Handousa executive director of the network Egypt integrated development and explained that she engaged the girls in the craft beside the men like the Indian experience in the field of handicrafts.  Dr. Nawal Elmessiri professor folk arts stressed  that the NGOs working in the field of handicrafts should check the profit in order to continue in the performance of their work towards this character, and at the end ,  Celebrated Indian artist Janaki Rangarajan present a show ,  entitled "love"  or  "ashek."
